1951 Bowman 96 Ernie Stautner

Ernie Stautner is one of the greatest defensive tackles to ever play the game. Standing 6 foot 1 inches tall and weighing 230 pounds, he was one of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the league’s premier defensive players. Drafted to the team in 1950 from Boston College as the number 2 overall draft pick, he stayed with the team for over a decade (14 years). Stautner was voted to the All-NFL team in 1955, 1956, 1958 and 1959. He also participated in nine Pro Bowls.
